Caleb Kelly - Lecture "Noise in the Gallery. Intervention and isolation in the gallery arts"
16 July 2015 | UdK Berlin, Fasanenstr. 1b, Berlin-Charlottenburg

„Noise in the Gallery. Intervention and isolation in the gallery arts“
Noise in the Gallery focuses on noise, alongside the void, as intervention within the institutional spaces of art. The gallery has long been held as an architectural environment for the quiet contemplation of visual art, yet there have been numerous interventions into this space that are anything but contemplative. Focusing on art and music within the confines of the white cube, the talk will look at Marco Fusinato (Aus), Bruce Nauman (USA), La Monte Young (USA), David Haines (AUS) and Joyce Hinterding (AUS) and lead to a noisy conclusion.
