SEMINAR KOHLENGRUBE
LB Anna Bajanova with Vlado Velkov
First date: April 15th 2024 at 5 pm, room 314
Seminar Description
Kohlengrube is a young art association located by a forest lake south of Berlin. The association serves as a laboratory for interdisciplinary projects at the intersection of nature, history, and architecture. The starting point of the experimental program is the water exhibition Odyssey: www.odyssee.org
Within the seminar „Kohlengrube,“ we initiate a research project that explores the site as a space of possibilities. Spatial and sculptural concepts are developed in harmony with nature. Whether with wood, stone, and clay, or with wind, water, and sun, we will learn from nature and seek new experimental approaches for our projects.
The open architecture of the old minehouse has now become a poetic space that we can artistically augment. Practical, as well as utopian and radical designs are pursued, which trigger imagination in terms of the historical substance. Built and digital models will be produced at the Kohlenbgrube and later summarized in a publication. At thesame time, we will connect physical works and 3D designs via augmented reality and explore new forms of expression.
