First Session: 17.10.2024, 18:30 @ CadLAB

Join us for an immersive seminar designed for absolute beginners in Blender at UdK Berlin. Over the course of the semester, participants will explore the fundamentals of 3D design, starting with an introduction to the user interface and essential operations.

Students will engage in a creative assignment titled “(Un)real Sightings,” where they will conceptualize and create a scene depicting a(n) (previously) (ex)terrestrial phenomenon within an otherworldly landscape, incorporating traces of human or alien architecture. Throughout the semester, participants will receive guidance from experienced instructors through two in-depth sessions focused on modeling and composition, as well as material shading and rendering.

The seminar will also feature additional specialized sessions, including:

Inputs and Workshops with InKüLe:
-3D-Scanning - technologies/methods/application
-environments + foliage - 360°skyboxes/texture to 3d/normal maps
-fabrication - 3D-Printing/handheld CNC

Add-Ons:

Speckles: An introduction to this interoperability tool to enhance your workflow.

Bonsai/BlenderBIM/IFC: A dedicated session on using Blender for architectural design.

Weekly sessions will provide opportunities for hands-on support and collaboration, fostering a “Blender self-help group” environment. By the end of the course, students will have developed a comprehensive understanding of Blender while creating a unique, imaginative scene.
