Laura Zattra (1973) is a musicologist who has used philology, analysis, oral history and ethnography for constructing contemporary histories of authors (T. Rampazzi, R. Zatti), musical works (J. Chowning, L. Nono, A. Di Scipio, S. Sciarrino), computer music centres (CSC in Padova, IRCAM in Paris, CCRMA in Stanford), and musical collaboration (Fabbriciani-Nono, musical assistants/computer music designers, and lately sound designers).She holds a PhD in Musicology from the Sorbonne University (M. Battier) and Trento University (R. Dalmonte) and was a Senior Researcher in Musicology at the University of Padova (2004-2012). Currently she is a Research Associate at the Analysis of Musical Practices Research Group (IRCAM Paris), and Adjunct Professor of History of Electroacoustic Music at the Conservatory of Parma and in the Department of Film Music at the Music Conservatorie in Rovigo (Italy).
She is the co-editor of Live-Electronic Music. Composition, Performance and Study (with F. Sallis, V. Bertolani and I. Burle, 2018), Presenza storica di Luigi Nono (with A.I. De Benedictis, 2011), author of Studiare la Computer Music. Definizioni, analisi, fonti (2011), and since 2018 co-editor-in-chief of the Music/Technology Journal (Firenze University Press).
