Guillermo Martínez de Velasco is an artist and researcher that integrates political ecology and historical materialism into inquiries around the relation of the sonic to the reproduction of daily life, ecology and ways of knowing in the context of past, current and possible ways of living. He studied Cultural and Environmental Studies in Montreal, London and Toronto. His art practice focuses on the relationships of human species to their ecosystems through speculative acts of construction and reconstruction of sonic and material environments. He is one of the founders and co-curators of Sound Ecology on Internet Public Radio and an active member of the Industrial Workers of the World.
