Was ist Theaterkritik? Wie verortet sie sich zwischen Journalismus, Aufführungsanalyse und künstlerischer Praxis? Welche anderen journalistischen Darstellungsformen gibt es? Die medienpraktische Übung zu Theater und Kritik mit nachtkritik.de-Redakteur Georg Kasch beim PAF Campus will vor allem Praxis vermitteln. Mit Schreib- und stilistischen Übungen, mit Exkursen zu Formaten wie Interview, Reportage und Porträt. Vor allem aber mit der Diskussion darüber, was eine Kritik von bloßer Meinung unterscheidet. Was macht man eigentlich mit Formaten, zu denen einem erstmal nur „Hä?“ einfällt? Was wir vormittags diskutieren, wollen wir abends im Anschluss an die Vorstellungen anwenden: mit Kurz- und Gesprächskritiken, Audios, Videos. Die gelungensten Beiträge finden ihren Eingang in den PAF Blog. Bitte planen Sie für die Festival-Woche entsprechend Zeit ein!

S04 Theater and Criticism

What is theater criticism? Where does it find itself in the space between journalism, production analysis and artistic practice? What other kinds of journalistic performance
forms exist? This practical media exercise examining theater and criticism with nachtkritik.de editor Georg Kasch at PAF Campus primarily seeks to communicate
practical skills. It will do show using writing and stylistic exercises with digressions into formats such as the interview, commentary and the portrait. Most of all, it will concentrate on the discussion of what distinguishes a critique from a simple opinion. How do you actually write about formats where your first impression is simply “Huh?”? What we discuss in the mornings is intended to be used practically in the evenings after the performances: with short and oral critiques, audio and video material. The most successful contributions will be published on the PAF blog. Please plan enough time for this during the week of the festival!
