Gather (https://www.gather-berlin.de/) ist ein partizipatives und nicht-hierarchisches Projekt, das 2016 begann und sich mit dem Thema Feminismus in der Musikproduktion beschäftigt.
Im Seminar Gather:musicking werden wir uns theoretisch und praktisch mit kollektivem Musikmachen und Hören von verschiedenen Perspektiven und Positionalitäten auseinandersetzen. Insbesondere werden wir aus Dylan Robinsons „Hungry listening“ lesen, dass das Zuhören sowohl aus indigener als auch aus kolonialer Perspektive betrachtet, George Lewis' „Improvisierte Musik nach 1950: afrologische und eurologische Perspektiven“ und Silvia Rivera Cusicanqui  Ch'ixinakax utxiwa: Eine Reflexion über die Praktiken und Diskurse der Dekolonisierung“. Auf der praktischen Seite werden wir die Comunidad Sikuris Berlin Group (eine andine kommunitäre Musikgruppe mit Sitz in Berlin) zu Gast haben  und uns mit Improvisation beschäftigen, auch mit Hilfe von Partituren (z.B. von der kolumbianischen Komponistin Ana Maria Romano).
Wie immer bei Gather wollen wir kritisch-reflektierend arbeiten, je nach Teilnehmer*innen mindestens zweisprachig (deutsch und englisch). Das Seminar ist offen für Menschen aller Geschlechter (!) und aller Fachrichtungen.

Gather (https://www.gather-berlin.de/) is a participatory and non-hierarchical project which began in 2016 and which deals with the topic of Feminism in music production.
In the seminar Gather:musicking we will engage theoretically and  ractically with collective music making and listening looking at various perspectives and positionalities. In particular we will read from Dylan Robinson’s “Hungry listening”  which considers listening both from indigenous and settler colonial perspectives, George Lewis’s “improvised music after 1950: afrological and eurological perspectives” and Silvia Rivera Cusicanqui “Ch’ixinakax utxiwa: A Reflection on the  practices and Discourses of Decolonization”. On the practical side we will host the Comunidad Sikuris Berlin Group (a andean communitarian music group based in Berlin) and engage in improvisation music practices also with the help of  cores (for example by columbian composer Ana Maria Romano).
As always with Gather we want to work critically reflective, at least bilingual (German and English) depending on the participants. The seminar is open to people of all genders (!) and all fields of study.
