What gives something value? Is it the systems shaping it, the processes behind it, or the realities it creates? In a world of trends and disposability, how can we rethink value and design a future focused on social justice, environmental responsibility, and thoughtful creation? This workshop explores transformation at every level. Over four days, we’ll examine the systems and processes that dictate how value is currently assigned, challenging participants to uncover fresh ways of seeing and creating sculptural garments/garment sculptures. Using discarded, overlooked, and everyday materials, we’ll explore how creative practice, story re-telling, and critical reflection can reshape realities and redefine where value is placed. What to Expect: Day 1: Foundations – Investigate the drivers of value concepts and explore methods to disrupt existing frameworks. Day 2: Collaboration – Experiment with materials and techniques that challenge traditional notions of worth. Day 3: Reimagining – Transform discarded materials into meaningful narratives that redefine value. Day 4: Sharing– Present your work in a group exhibition to inspire new perceptions of value.
