KLIMA.KUNST. Wie werden wir aktiv gegen die Klimakrise?
Das "Open Atelier" ist ein bewusst offenes Konzept in dem die Seminarteilnehmenden aktiv mitgestalten können. Gemeinsam bestimmen wir Themenschwerpunkte, stellen Fragen, erarbeiten eine gemeinsame Basis, laden Gäst*innen ein, treten aus der Universität heraus in den öffentlichen Raum, besuchen Expert*innen, präsentieren eigene Projekte, geben Feedback und stellen wieder Fragen.
Wöchentlich testen wir Grenzen aktueller Lehre an Kunsthochschulen aus, leben Gegenentwürfe und formen das "Studium Planetare". Die offene Werkstatt ist ein Experiment, mit der Vision von gestärkter Kollektivität und Interdisziplinarität in der Lehre und steht allen Disziplinen offen. Bring dein Projekt, eine Ideeoder einfach eine Frage mit. Wir freuen uns auf dich!

Active. Climate. Art. How do we become active against the climate crisis?
The "Open Atelier" encourages students to actively participate and shape the seminar. Together we choose the main topics, ask questions, develop a common ground, invite guests, step out of the university into public space, visit experts, present our own projects, give feedback and ask questions again.
Every week we test the limits of current teaching at art colleges while forming the "Studium Planetare". The open atelier is an experiment, with a vision of strengthening collectivity and interdisciplinarity in teaching and is open to all disciplines. Bring your project, an idea, an object or a question. We are looking forward to meeting you!
Klasse Klima is an open, autonomous and transdisciplinary collective. It communicates the climate crisis in art and design practice and education with a focus on issues of justice.

Requirements for the ungraded Studium Generale credits: active and regular participation.

Klasse Klima is an open, autonomous and interdisciplinary group of students and teachers of the University of the Arts Berlin (Universität der Künste Berlin). It started as a gathering of students of the Media Department of UdK Berlin that voiced commonly shared fears facing the climate crisis and a sensed lack to share, reflect and act upon those concerns within their own institution. Klasse Klima’s aim is to politicize our university, teachers, and students towards the facing climate crisis. Within our own university, we aim to bring the UdK Berlin as a public institution forward to clearly position itself in the struggle of the climate crisis and to remodel its own structures. We want to design and art teaching and practice react to and act upon the climate crisis. Furthermore, Klasse Klima wants to remodel current methods of hierarchical teaching and apply a democratic, communal learning experience where responsibilities and contributions are shared in its seminars. Die Klasse Klima ist eine offene, autonome und interdisziplinäre Gruppe aus Studierenden und Absolvent*innen der UdK Berlin und anderer Hochschulen Deutschlandweit. Ziel ist es, unsere Universität und ihre Studierenden zu politisieren, die Klimakrise in Lehre und gestalterische Praxis zu übersetzen, sowie die UdK Berlin als Institution zu einer öffentlichen Positionierung und dem Umbau ihres eigenen Stoffwechsels zu bringen. Klasse Klima möchte die hierarchischen Unterrichtsmethoden umgestalten und eine demokratische, gemeinschaftliche Lernerfahrung schaffen, bei der Verantwortung und Beiträge in den Seminaren geteilt werden.
